We all get that craving for a little crunch, right? Whenever a client asks me what they can have when that craving strikes, I always assume they want to dive head first into a bag of chips! Who doesn't want to do exactly that when the PMS Beast starts to rear her ugly head?!

We don't!! We have goals. We want to be healthy and fit. Chips certainly don't help us reach that goal. That's why we need an alternative.

Have you ever gotten down to the bottom of a bag of chips and thought, "Who the heck ate all the chips?!" Yeah, we all have. That's because chips don't trigger our satiety hormones. Your body it waiting to fill up on nutrients and chips have NONE!

They do, however, have ingredients that make you crave MORE! "Bet you can't eat just one." Sound familiar? Those marketers knew what we are up against with their craving-inducing foods! They hit us right in the the hippocampus, caudate and insula! They are all parts of our brain involved in reward-seeking behaviors. They are the same areas that light up with drug use!! We can't win against that.

That's why we need healthy, whole food alternatives. This Keto Cracker recipe will not only get you through those cravings, it also satisfies you. That is so important when working on following a healthy lifestyle. We need foods that fill us up so we're not scouring the kitchen for more and more foods to satiate us. After a few of these crackers, you're good!

Here are some tips to make them your own:
  • Change up the spices to your liking. My favorite is a bit of sea salt, onion and garlic. Perhaps rosemary and thyme, or sage would be nice.
  • Try some seeds like sesame, poppy or fennel.
  • I like to dip mine in guacamole, Wholly Guacamole to be exact. You could also use hummus or salsa.
