The reason why I was looking for an oil-free dressing is because a couple of months ago, I did a Daniel Fast. Bottom line, it's a vegan fast where you only eat non-animal foods. People who follow this cleanse do it for, not only a cleanse and a reset, but also as a way to have a closer connection to God.
Being a vegan, plant-based cleanse, it's encouraged to omit all oils. Plant-based eaters don't use oil because it's a highly processed food.
I'm not vegan, although I once was. However, after doing some research, I decided it was worth it to give up oils temporarily. My main reason is because oils can clog up the liver and the liver is our most important fat burning organ!
Who couldn't use a little help with fat burning?!
What I realized during this time is that I use a lot of oil! In fact, every day I use oil on my salad. Finding an alternative took some digging.
